Singing Bowls Zen Koan
These small singing bowls, made of seven precious metals, cannot be made by hand. At first, the metals are mixed and molten, then the material is rolled into sheets, and in a moulding machine given its final shape, then completed and polished.
These popular little Zen singing bowls are used in many temples all over Japan and China. They sound in a rather high pitch. When combined in sets, they will resonate: when you sound (striking or stroking) one singing bowl, the others will pick up this vibration. Although these bowls are small, the overtones are pretty easily created.
